Parties and Events

Larger parties, schools, or events

I may be available for animal shows online or in person at most schools, preschools, youth groups, summer camps, community centers, and corporate events. Pricing varies depending on size, location, and other factors. In school settings I usually suggest that we split into smaller groups of about 25 kids or fewer for a more interactive experience. We would need to follow masking and social distancing precautions. Presentations can be tailored to match party themes or school curriculum. For these events I ask for a nonrefundable $100 deposit to save the date.

Animals

I will bring 40 to 50 different types of reptiles, amphibians, and insects to your child's birthday party or other small event. If you prefer some types of animals and not others, I can easily accommodate your needs.

Pricing

I usually do a one and one half to two hour interactive presentation showing the animals and talking about their interesting biology, where they are from, and how they came to be the way they are. I like to talk about conservation too, followed by questions and answers, as everyone gets a turn to hold or touch the animals. It is a very interactive experience for the kids, and I adjust what I am doing to match the particular needs of various ages and interests. Whether the kids are outgoing or shy, eager or apprehensive, there will be a way for them to participate.

A small private party of 20 or fewer kids is $325 plus a travel fee plus tax. I can also do larger parties or events upon request. I ask for a $100 nonrefundable deposit to reserve the date.

Generally speaking I do most parties on the weekends at 11:00 and 3:00. Some Fridays are also available. This allows the animals to rest during the week. Other days of the week may be available depending on my schedule.

Other considerations

Please keep in mind that on rare occasions parties may be cancelled or postponed in the case of unforeseen illness or other circumstances. With live animals, the possibility always exists that while handling them, a little scratch or bite could occur, or an animal could go potty on you. This hardly ever happens, and all the animals that I let the kids handle are extremely tame and very friendly. I will ensure that the kids sanitize their hands after holding the animals. In booking a party or other event, you are doing so at your own risk. I am fully licensed and insured.
